Ron Schwartz
Major

Biography

Major Ronald B. Schwartz has served with the Baltimore County Police Department for the past thirty-six years holding command positions in both patrol and support divisions. These positions include the Training Academy, Intelligence Division, Departmental Night Commander, the Technical Support Services Division, several Patrol Precincts, the Office of Policy, Analysis and Development Services as the Initiative Manager for Community Policing, and the Commander of Departmental Crime Prevention Programs and Security Strategy.

 

As a professional trainer, Major Schwartz has traveled throughout the Country providing Community Policing, problem solving, strategic planning and crime prevention and Security training for:

 

  • The Police and Private Security Association
  • The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE)
  • The East Coast Conference on Community Policing
  • The Maryland Law Enforcement Officers’ Association
  • The U.S. Attorney’s Office
  • Maryland Crime Prevention Institute and
  • The National Institute of Justice

 

Major Schwartz was appointed to the Governor of Maryland’s Consortium for the State of Maryland Community Policing Academy and was also selected as a Training Fellow for the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program through the Department of State.

 

Major Schwartz has earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the Essex Community College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Strategic Management and Human Resources from Towson State University. Major Schwartz has also received his Board Certification as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) through the American Society for Industrial Security and continues to be a member in good standing.

 

In July of 2006 the Chief of the Baltimore County Police Department appointed Major Schwartz to his current position as the Duty Commander for the Field Operations Bureau.
