Jackie Balda

Biography

Jacqueline (Jackie) Balda is currently employed at University Physicians, Inc. as the Senior Accountant for University of Maryland Surgical Associates, P. A., affiliated with University of Maryland Medical System.

Previously, she was the Controller for the 14 companies involved with St. Catherine’s Healthcare Management Inc. and St. Catherine’s Care Centers in Ohio, and Common Goal Capital Group headquartered in Baltimore. She also served for a year as Assistant Finance Manager and a member of the management team of CARE REHAB, Inc, in Lutherville, MD.

Prior to entering the medical industry Jackie spent 25 years in the Banking industry having attained the position of Assistant Vice President and General Administration Manager of Signet Home Loan Corporation, headquartered in Lutherville, MD. It was during this time that she also performed the duties of the Corporate Secretary for the four subsidiary corporations located in Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

She is a past member of the Maryland Association of Health Care Executives, the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce, and the Baltimore Chapter of the American Institute of Banking. Jackie was a featured speaker in both 2004 and 2005 for the Women’s Expo, a fund raising and educational event held at the Catonsville campus of Baltimore County Community College.

Jackie has also been very active in her church community for 35 years serving as a member of the Parish Council, as Chairman of the Finance and Liturgy Committees, as member of the Board of Governors and Treasurer for the church sponsored Community Theatre group, and as a member of the Renovation Committee for the recent addition to the Church building. She also served in the choir and as a Cantor for 25 years.

Jackie holds a Business Administration Degree in Finance from Towson University and has been a Notary for better than 25 years. In addition to being a current member in good standing with the Maryland Crime Prevention Association, she is a graduate of the Baltimore County Police Citizens’ Academy.
