Awareness and Prevention for Maryland Today
The Maryland Community Crime Prevention Institute (MCCPI) is planning to hold a
two-day training for interested law enforcement officers Statewide. The program
will take place as follows:
September 25-26, 2008 – Holiday Inn, 1020 Kent Narrows Rd.
Grasonville, MD 21638 (Queen Anne’s Co.)
The training will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day and is free of
charge.
However, students are responsible for their meals and lodging, if necessary. The
purpose of this program is to provide current information on Structure of Street
Gangs; Prevention Programs; Sexual Offense Update/Rape Prevention and Awareness;
Drugs: Schools, Current Trends, and Methamphetamine; Social Networking (Internet
Crime). This training will provide useful information to all law enforcement
personnel regardless of their assignment. It has been approved for 12 ½
in-service hours (P-13342).
Please note: Registrants must attend the entire training program and
successfully pass the test to receive both in-service credit and a certificate
from the Institute.
On behalf of MCCPI, I am pleased to extend an invitation to you to send one or
more of your officers to this training. However, please note that since seating
is limited to 50, in order to accommodate as many departments as possible, MCCPI
reserves the right to limit the number of officers attending from any given
department.

confirmation will be sent to the designated officers along with further

WITHOUT PRIOR NOTIFICATION TO MCCPI MAY BE CHARGED A FEE .

Residential Crime Prevention Training
Program
The Maryland Community Crime Prevention Institute (MCCPI) is planning to hold a
four-day Residential Crime Prevention Training Program for interested law
enforcement officers Statewide. This program will take place as follows:
September 29-October 2, 2008 – Howard County Public Safety
Training Center – 2200 Scott Wheeler Drive, Marriottsville, MD
The training will run from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily and is free of charge.
However, students are responsible for their meals and lodging, if necessary. The
purpose of the program is to provide instruction in BASIC RESIDENTIAL crime
prevention methodologies and techniques. It is designed for those officers who
are assigned full or part time to crime prevention and/or community policing.
The course has been approved for 25 in-service credit hours by the Police
Training Commission (P-12045). Registrants must attend the ENTIRE training
program and successfully pass the test to receive both in-service credit and a
certificate from the Institute.

Throughout the year, MCCPI will also offer Specialized Residential Crime
